Quick Update

Hi All,

Still working and as far as I can tell I still have a heart beat.

I knew web scraping would take awhile. It's easy when you code it for a particular website, but very difficult when you are trying to create a way for people to just click the information they want.

Each website has different formats plus converting the different types of images to something we can use was a major pain.

I had Amazon working pretty well. Tried it on another site and it didn't work the same. I had to change it and now got it working on Appsumo. I have a few tweaks to make but I am getting excited at how this is working now. This has been a problem that has plagued me for a long time. Now you can click the section you want and it will get all the information within that section. I'll make videos showing how to use it but wanted to post an update.

I will never stop working on this thing, I couldn't stop even if I wanted. Once I get something in my head I can't let it go. lol

Thanks for your patience! I think it will be worth the pain and long wait.

Still Working on Scraping!

Each website is different and it's slowly killing me. lol

Different image types caused issues. Scraping works on a particular website and then doesn't work on another website.

I knew it was going to be difficult which is why I asked if we should release it without web scraping.

Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know I didn't jump ship and still in this until the end.

I'm still checking the forum everyday.

Thanks,

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

Thank you for the update. As you said different image types causes issues, I am wondering if it is a good idea to release the app without the web scraping if the core application doesn't have any issues. You can still continue working on the web scraping but you don't have to put on hold the core application and web scraping just because of the web scarping issue. Just a thought.

Thanks Mohammed,

Yeah, need to release this. I got the images working and testing the other stuff that wasn't working on the web scraping. But I need to take control and get this out otherwise we all lose. I'm testing some stuff I changed on the web scraping. I'm hoping to get this out by next month, but you never know. Then work on marketing and sales after that.

I think there is a lot of money to be made with our programs. I can't imagine not selling 1,000 copies or more of a solid, useful program. Priced at $500 a year which gives us a nice $500,00 a year income. No doubt our programs will make our customers much more than $500 a year so it will be easier to sell. I'll also be creating programs, with ESB, that I will market not only to people but also businesses.

Appreciate you all!

I'd agree with Mohammed on that. For what I'm doing at the moment, I don't need web scraping. But I can't really create and sell any software right now because if I do sell it and then make changes/additions to it, it won't update the old version with the newer version without a complete uninstall and exporting / re importing the database. And nobody is going to want to do that :) . I'll definitely look at web scraping and API's once it is all working, but for right now I'm just looking for a solid program. So having said that, I'm kind of working with V3 until your satisfied with what you have in ESB.

So thanks for all your hard work, and I know once we get going on the new version, things will move quicker.

Definitely think you two are right. Also Johnm has been saying the same thing for a long time.

If it's ok, Thomas, I agree too. The browser working and the activation would be welcome if it is on your near list, as Mike would like me to try
a different system to activate his software (he doesn't like my woo plugin lol).
Haven't read your last PM as I was busy sorting out a move back to Australia as my
NV2 was still active so was able to get old RAAF job back... for now.
Aileen , Via are fine and are used to family leaving and finding work elsewhere
and I'm only 62 so gotta keep working lol.
Not sure if I'm allowed to post but I thought I'd update ya all.
cheers,
Rob

Of course you're allowed to post Robbie!

I was hoping everything was going well for ya mate. Sorry you had to go back for work. I really tried to get this done as fast as possible to help you avoid it.

No matter what, all of us will always be friends!

Appreciate the update. I wanted to message and ask how things were going but decided to focus on getting this done as fast as I can.

I was showing a friend all of the pictures I took while I lived and worked in Australia. He now wants to go. lol

Cheers mate and hopefully we will get you back to the Philippines soon!

Yeah,
Thanks, Thomas. It's ok too because I still have put aside some of my Super savings to buy a small place when I do go back.
Aileen has a sister, Grace, shes a OFW (Overseas Filipino Worker) and most families in the Philippines have someone overseas helping family financially. Well, looks like Im one too haha., I miss taking Via to school and she was really annoyed she has to keep using a multticab 😅.

It's great to be back as every single day there was 30 degrees C and 80% humidity lol. I think my motherboard was suffering from the moisture.
Got to catchup with family. Enjoying some normal weather. ^_^
Can't remember if you were in Sydney when you were in Australia. Its nice there but little expensive for me. Adelaide is nice and quiet in contrast.
MIKE:
I'll look into your new script as soon as I can. Nov/Dec our busiest time before "Stand Down" at work. got 12 days off at Christmas so I'll look at it around then 🤪🌝
Thomas, Hope your Mom i& you are doing well with you being around to help her too. Hope you all are well 😊

Lived in Canberra, which wasn't exactly cheap. Not too far from the casino. lol

Mom had some medical issues but all seems to be good.

Thanks!

No rush. Look after your life first. I purchased a lifetime deal for FluentCart, so that is what I'll be using. I just did not like WooCommerce :cautious:
and having to buy all the extensions to make it work.

FluentCart has it's own licensing, file download protection, etc., so just need to figure if we can hook it into ESB programs or not.

Nice to see a little action back on the forum for a bit.

Quick look at their website and it looks like they have a Rest Api. We can connect to them through that Rest Api.
