New ESB Designer Demo

Demo of the new ESB designer.

Would you like to break up your main database model into micro projects like you see with the Rest and WebApi models? It would make it easier to manage with less forms. The only issue is you must have all forms that you want to link together via relationships in one project.

Looks great, Thomas! Micro projects for the data model sounds good to me. :)

Mel

I almost added it but thought I better ask. :) I like the micro projects as well since having a lot of forms can be tedious. The main reason I added colors to different forms.

The Rest models can grow quite large. These services may return all the data but when you create a record it only wants specific data. So you need to create a form for that and a form for retrieving all of the data. I'm working on a video to explain how it all works. It's difficult since I don't know how best to teach this without getting overly technical.

Yes, it does get tedious. Joan created one project that had so many forms she had to constantly zoom in and out, plus keep everything collapsed and keep all the forms tightly organized in the window. It was time consuming just dealing with that, so she's going to like it for sure. :)

Yeah...sounds good. I missed this post, might go into my forum settings to see if there's a tick to email me when a new post is posted. :p
Agreed. It will organize blocks of data and forms more logically and manageable. The relationship between 2 forms within a data block is fine if it still works and will it be able to share across other block via automation> I would think so ...so that'll be fine.

Um..strewth...its getting to the point i will be creating a software licensing manager within an ESB project anyway by the look of where this is all going and almost wont be any need for the esb WP plugin. haha...seriously.

If API/REST is all in there it will make my plugin...almost pointless..or i can talk to my php LIC scripts as well.
Its looking great...excited for it :D Lots of very hard work and long hours you've put in this. :) Thanks Mr T.

Its been the real reason i slowed on finishing the plugin as i can see the potential of a powerful lic software built from the NEW esb...cannot wait haha :D :D
Robbie

EDIT:
Or....as you'll be selling through your WordPress site i can get the data from the wordpress API pulling in the details that way into a software manager..yeah..that'd be better.
Hmmm...maybe i can create this and sell it?
hmmm lol

Robbie, all forms and relationships will be accessible through automation. This only has to do with organizing your models.

Instead of having 20 forms on one model you could break it up into 5 separate micro projects/models.

Now I just need to figure out how to teach the Rest stuff! haha

Looks good Thomas. I personally find if I have too many forms, I'm sometimes confusing myself when I go back into a project. But having said that, if there are a lot of relationships, then all forms will be in one project anyways. But for consistency, if all models are the same, then it will make less confusion going from data model to rest model, etc.

Yeah, I hear you about getting confused. I'm turning 50 in a couple of months and everything is confusing now. haha

The main reasons I added a different color to each form was to help organize the models better. I don't really think it does the trick which is why I ended up designing the Rest and WebApi models the way I did.

I'll go ahead and do the same with the data model. I think being able to break up the models into smaller subsections will make it easier to organize. It does for me.

I wish I was only 50. I'll be rolling over to 67 this year. Some days I forgot if I got up or not. So making it easier to organize does it for me.

Ok, this is implemented so now you will be able to break up your data models into micro projects. Like I said earlier, only forms within the same model will be able to have relationships.

When updating to this version, I will add your current model to a "Default" project. I may try and see if I can quickly add a way for you to move forms between micro projects. These won't include the relationships so the worst case scenario is having to add back the relationship once you move the forms to the new project.

For some reason I thought you were my age Mike.

67 is the new 37. Especially since I am gaining on that 67. haha
